📍 5489 Ocean Blvd (Bay Camp location)
We’re hosting open tryouts + training for staff (ages 16+) and interns (ages 13+)!
Come ready to jump into the water & bring your best attitude to learn and work with kids! You’re welcome to wear a wetsuit in March since it’s cold.
About the Job:
This is a physically demanding but tons-of-fun position working closely with kids in an active, outdoor environment. Staff assist with not only fun and instruction but also with equipment management and are part of a high-energy, supportive team. Our various camps teach water safety and proficiency in the waterways and oceans of Long Beach and North OC and we need various camp helpers with water and people skills to make our summers successful.
Requirements:
Applicants must be outgoing, energetic, friendly, and engaging with both kids and adults. They should be playful, responsible, and reliable, comfortable getting in cold water and staying active in the sun. They must have or quickly learn paddling, canoe and other board/watercraft skills. Interns & Staff must serve as the first line of water safety and have a deep concern for the safety of our campers. Last but not least - Good character is essential, as interns and staff represent Aqualand in the community — our campers and their families are everywhere around town.
