Seal Training Ocean Prep Summer 2024

For children ages 6-12 looking to become comfortable at the beach and in surf, Aqualand at Surfside is holding weekly Seal Training. This Ocean Prep Camp, in conjunction with regular swim training, will start your Seal Pup off with the proper techniques needed to eventually become playful and independent ocean goers & Junior Guards.

Through play and games, Seal Training will introduce campers to body surfing, boogie boarding, beach fitness and acclimating to waves and changing ocean conditions.

Campers must be able to swim and will be divided into Bravo and Charlie companies based on age and ocean proficiency.  $20 materials fee for optional uniform.

REQUIREMENTS

Ages 6 - 12

Campers must be able to swim independently in a pool and will be assisted in the ocean.

COST

$180/$450 week ($160/$430 + $20 optional materials fee for uniform)

CODE OF CONDUCT AND REMOVAL POLICIES FOR CAMPERS

Campers and class participants must adhere to behavioral expectations laid out by Aqualand staff which include but are not limited to:

  1. Respectful communication with staff

  2. Zero use of profanity

  3. Zero physical violence or unwanted physical contact with other campers - keep hands to themselves

  4. No throwing or kicking of sand

  5. Campers must stay with the group at all times

  6. Campers must participate in all activities 

  7. Campers must respond to verbal instructions and directions from staff i.e. it's time to get out of the water, do not go in the water etc.

  8. Campers must follow all direction given that is specific to the dynamic conditions and safety of watermen activities, watercraft safety and ocean activities.

Campers who are repeatedly unable to adhere to our code of conduct will participate in a parent and camper meeting with Aqualand staff.

Campers who continue to be unable to comply with our code of conduct will be removed from the remainder of camp at the discretion of Aqualand.

Aqualand reserves the right to remove any camper at any time and at our discretion.

Attending Aqualand is a privilege, not a right.
